BPOs must rethink past strategies if they are to offer meaningful solutions to banks and stay profitable at the same time. The initial days of banking offshoring saw banks investing significant resources in terms of money, people, and experience. BPO providers then only needed to develop capabilities to replicate processes on a large scale.
That is no longer true. Today, BPOs are expected to think well beyond providing generic capabilities. Smaller banks, in particular, cannot afford long learning times with expensive strategies like off-shoring, and look to BPO service providers to draw from their experience and provide solutions that address their key concerns.
